Alternative models to a 2145 for parts?

I have a 2145 that has given me years of great service. The tractor has been well used and well maintained. I just bought a compact tractor to relive the stress on the 2145 and want to refresh the 2145.

I am looking for a parts tractor and was wondering if any other models were basically the same tractor and MOST parts will transfer over. I am mainly concerned with having the body panels and maybe the tyranny switch over. Bigger tires or a nicer deck would be a bonus. I have seen a 2146 but am having a tough time finding something that really spells out the differences between the Cub models.

If i am not mistaken, I believe, most 2000 series parts will interchange. There are some really intelligent guys on here and i cant believe that they havent posted yet. This forum is a God send for Cub owners. Good luck.

I believe MOST of the 2000 series parts are interchangeable. The engines and transmissions are different for SOME of the different models. For the 2145, very similar models would include 2140, 2130, 2135, 2146 (newer version) and possibly 2150/55.......I THINK Cub had 3 different variants, with the 2145 being in the class of lighter duty lawn tractors. Conversely, the 18+HP models were lawn and garden or garden tractors, capable of running tillers, etc. I've got some brochures that would spell out the exact differences, but I'm in the middle of a move, and got stuff everywhere.....let me know if you need more specific info, or, hopefully this helps.
