is it true if I place a screwdriver on the back of an alternator when it is running it will form a magnet affect if it is charging ? kioti diesel dk 35 altermator

If the brushes are gone, it still won't charge. The best is to measure with a voltage meter over the battery while running engine with a load on it (Lights on).

How is your coolant level in the radiator? Belts that have antifreeze on them will sometimes squeal even if they are tight. If the radiator is leaking, the fan can blow antifreeze onto the belt. Worth checking.

If it is antifreeze on the belt, try spraying it with windex or soapy water. Sometimes that will quiet them down. Do this with the engine running.

Might be the shaft bearings/bushings going bad. Remove the belt and spin the pulley. If stiff or gravely-feeling then that's a sign that it could be the bearings/bushings. NOTE: Running with really tight belt tension can prematurely wear the bearings/bushings.

Might also be that there's variations in the pulley's surface (some rust and then some smooth/shiny areas) and there's varying belt traction.

Also, don't rule out something else in the belt path. Water pump, fan or something else that has a pulley (tensioner). Another component might be the actual culprit.
