Tackled this install last weekend and it went well but the wiring harness has me perplexed. The instructions for the kit said to remove the existing relay under the dash- I decided to just unplug it and mounted the new relay near it.
After doing this, the tractor wouldn't start until I plugged the old relay back in.
Also, the six wire plug is now plugged into the new receptacle with only 2 wires running to it, which also seemed strange, but is necessary to keep the dummy light for the battery off.
Anyone else with similar / different experience with this kit??

Seymour,

I had the same problem with my 7610. The instructions just didn't make sence. After scratching my head, I decided to just ignore the instructions and look for the hook up that seemed to make the most sense. It was a few months ago that I did the job, so I don't recall the details. However, I took the attached photo that may be helpful.

Good Luck

the 6 wire connector looks like mine now, but I wound up with 2 of those relays mounted under there.
I'll keep my fingers crossed!! Glad to know you're having no problems with the swap after several months.

Hi KB,

I am also trying the same task and frankly the instruction didn't make sense to me either.

The 2 connectors on the new cable that goes under the dashboard is giving me headaches......

The existing relay (with the Dynamo) has a rubber part on top of it that simply slids on the brass bracket. There is no nut to screw the new one (as shown on your picture)
Did you let it loose under your dashboard as shown on your picture?

Also the other connector that has only 2 wire running to it I find it weird to plug it to another terminal having 6 wires? Is this supposed to be that way?

If you want I can send you pics f I figure the way to post them.

Thanks
