Hi,

I am going to be taking delivery of a new to me 2520 this weekend and know it is a 2007 that went into service in January of 2008.

I know that the alternator changed from 20 amp to 40 amp at some point but not sure when.

Is there an easy way to check this out? I've ordered a cab for this thing and will need the bigger alternator to be able to run lights, heater, fan, radio, etc...

Any help would be great.

Thanks,

Mario

I don't know exact s/n change either but if it looks similar to the alt on your 2305 (little bitty guy) then it is a 20 amp or possibly the 35 amp upgrade. The 40 amp alt LOOKS like an alt should.

Tried, did it work? If it did this is a pic of the 20 amp version the 35 amp will look similar. I don't have a pic of the 40 but the case will have cooling holes in it like an automotive alternator.

Thanks for the pics guys. That makes it very obvious to tell the difference. That 40 amp does look like an alternator should!!

Should be about 48 hours till my new toy arrives then I'll be able to check it out.

Anybody looking for a Tractor or mower cab for should look at this web site ROPS Tractor Cab Manufacturing by Tektite i just got one from them for my Kubota BX2660 and it is the nicest cab and easy to install,

Welcome to TBN:D

They sure do look nice-I have never heard of them before!

What did your cost and what options did you get? Pictures?

Any pics of your tractor after the install? Looks pretty nice.

I spoke to the guys at Tectite. It's a newer company formed by two of the main guys who left JoDale Perry and went on their own. It is basically the same product. Very sweet looking from the pics I've seen.

I will post pics of my Jodale Perry cab once installed.

Thanks,

Mario

Has anyone changed their 20 amp to a 40 amp like on the newer 2520's? I've been checking around and the 20 to 35 amp kit is more expensive than the 40 amp alternator. I spoke to a service guy and they tell me that some minor electrical changes would be required because regulator is built in on the 40. It's beyond my knowledge but all i know is the 35 amp kit is $600 and the 40 amp alternator is $400.

Any comments would be great.

Thanks...

Mario,

I sent you a pm on your alternator question. I changed the one on my 2210 to a 50 amp. Just enough to power up that coffee maker when that cold north wind blows!!!!!
