American Eagle Plow on RTV 500 Pics

Thanks Dixiedog. I do not have a winch as of yet. Do you recommend buying the winch from American Eagle also, sort of as a kit with the plow? Or should I buy the winch separately - or does it really matter.

I'm not sure what the quality of their winch is, I already had the Kubota factory winch kit which is a Warn 2500lb winch so I didn't try their winch. I will say the Kubota kit was a nice clean install and the winch works excellent, the downside is it's spendy.

I need to get mine on youtube one of these days. It looks like the blade comes awfully close to the front right track when angled. We just got dumped on out here and I would have loved to have this on mine today. Could have made a nice road to the ice house too

I hope it's not too late to share my experience regarding Eagle Winches. I found this page by luck while installing my Eagle winch.

When I ordered my Eagle Plow I also ordered an Eagle winch. If it is important to you, the Eagle winch is not made by American Mfg. as their webpage claims. It is imported from China. The sticker on the box surprised me. Like a lot of other winches, it only has a one year warranty. Like me, you probably downloaded and read American Mfg's catalog in pdf format. Description of the winch explains how it was developed with the cooperation of the University of Wisconsin using one of a kind testing equipment, etc., and claims that "The standard has been raised and it is The Eagle Winch." Be skeptical.

I received an Eagle winch recently. I was not impressed with it at all. I could not securely fasten the winch to the mounting plate using the hardware provided because the mounting holes in the bottom of the winch were not threaded properly. I should have returned the winch, but because of the time and shipping charges involved, I corrected the problem myself.

I can't speak for the dependability of the winch yet, but if fit/finish of the exterior is any indication of the interior fit/finish, I will regret buying it.
