Ammo Can for tractor storage

Painted up an ol ammo can and mounted it to the back of my Kioti. Not real big but big enough for a chain and some work gloves plus it is water tight.

Ammo cans are great for storage, I've got a couple of .30's behind the seat in the pickup, one for a tow chain and the other for ratchet straps and rope. Keeps everything in place and dry, as the cans are far more watertight than the pickup.

I wish I had room for one on my Yanmar. Walking back to the shop to grab a couple of tools just to adjust something is a pain. But yours sure looks good.

Were the mounting brackets already there or did you fabricate our own? It looks like it's mounted to the fuel tank.

I want to do something like that to my tractor but don't want to attach it to the fuel tank.

I like the two tone paint job.

A few more questions.

Did you remove the cover at the hinge to paint it black or just mask it off? The pictures don't show the hinge side of the ammo box but I do like the paint job. If you removed the cover how do you keep the box waterproof if you used bolts to put it back on. Same for the mounting bolts. How are they made waterproof?

Did you paint the inside also?

You paint job seems to indicate that you are a perfectionist, and the little one riding with you on your tractor seems to be enjoying the ride.

Hey Workstead,

Once you open the top it will slide off the hinges, and the gasket is glued to the bottom part so you don't have to mess with it. I just gave it a light coat on the inside and put a little silicone on the bolts where I mounted it.
