Are there any Amsoil dealers that participate in this forum? If so, how well do you do financially as a Amsoil dealer if you don't mind? How is the Amsoil company to work with? Are you successful using the MLM method? Can you make a living selling just the Amsoil products or do you sell them as a sideline product? How do you promote and market the Amsoil product line besides opening up an online store? How is your repeat business? Thanks

I sell but mostly for my own use. We farm a few acres and have atv's, snowmobiles and many vehicles so it only made sense when I first took it in 04'. Now I have people coming to me all the time. Haven't lost a customer yet.

In reality until last year I had a couple customers but the last month was my best ever and all I do is have a yard sign that has been up 6 months. It came to a point where I needed to keep some inventory and to keep what I really thought I should carry I might as well advertise.

The company is fine to work with. There are folks who make a living at it but for me I like to do many things so it wouldn't be for me. Just one of those that gets bored doing the same thing every day. Don't know what your market is but you could become a dealer and keep a few things close by. By biggest sellers are the 10W-30/30 small engine oil I pointed out to you, motorcycle and 5W-30 auto oil.

I just completed my T1 certification so now am shown on the corporate website for anyone that types in my zip code.

Overall if your a mechanical and/or oil guru it might fit. I like both and am an information junkie so it works well for me.

The way I understand it is, the way the dealers make their money is, they get people to sign up as prefered customers or, as other dealers. So if you become a dealer, you try to get x # of people to sign up as prefered customers or dealers under you.The more dealers you sign the mone $ you make. I called a dealer the 1 st. time I purchased. That dealer paid $10.00 for me to have a 6 mo. prefered customer #. I was able to purchase at the same price as the dealer & the dealer got a % by signing me as a prefered customer. Now I just renew my prefered customer account once a year. I guess he still gets a % every time I order under my customer #

I became a dealer afew years ago. I first bought the oil after researching which synthetic to use in my motorcycle. I have a few customers & a preferred customer. I did it for the discount & the of chance of making a few extra bucks.

The product is good & has an excellent reputation. I've never sold anything, I've had people ask me. I've never "worked" the business. I have no doubt that if a peson were serious you could make a few dollars. I've been in another MLM before. It began with an "A" also. Amsoil is nothing like that.

I'd say go for it. The cost of entry is very low & you'll use the products anyway. Perhaps you can make a few dollars. Good luck

I have been a dealer since 1978. I retired early (55) in 2002 and its more of a hobby business for me. I have retail accounts like PowerSport dealers, ATV rental shops and a few auto service centers and even a GMC dealer. I sell retail products from my garage. Snowmobiling is a big tourist draw around here and I sell a lot of Interceptor 2 cycle oils. Amsoil has seen over 10% annual growth since the early 1990's, there is big demand for their products.

Download and read the Jan and Feb 2008 company magazine all dealers and preferred customers receive.. It should provide much insight. Links will not be up for long, they are large files, close to 9Mb.
