See the note below in response to my original question to Amsoil. I was ready to jump on the Amsoil bandwagon when I change my fluid soon, but desire to have better low temperature operation that would be provide by Super-UDT or M2C200.

... back to the drawing board. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Comments: Does the Amsoil Synthetic Tractor Hydraulic/Transmission Fluid meet the requirements of Kubota Super-UDT and also New Holland M2C200 fluid specs? If so, can you give me some specifics?
I am a potential customer checkbox

All recent discussions about synthetics have centered on engine oils- I can't recall one dealing with hydraulic fluid where posters haven't responded that Super UDT was the best choice.
I use Amsoil in my various engines and their gear lube, but never even considered them for hydraulic fluid, as Kubota had a superior product to offer.

Two things: first, I'm pleased that Amsoil replied even when the answer didn't help them, second, I went from regular UDT to Kubota Super UDT and have been pleased with the results. Not necessarily pleased with the price, but pleased with the quality of the product. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Dargo, I agree with your first comment... that shows good customer service. About the Super UDT.. what differences have you noticed? I recently serviced my Kubota for the first time and I used the UDT. My dealer had the super UDT, but like you said, they are proud of that stuff! I've only put 1 hr on my tractor since I got it (300 total hrs) so I don't have anything to compare it to anyway. Just wondering what you found to be better?

Thanks.

With all the recent discussions praising Amsoil and also synthetics, I had somewhat assumed that their tranny fluid was comparable to the best products out there and that it would have multi-viscosity characteristics. Obviously, I was wrong. It's still probably great fluid, but just not what I was hoping.

dmanspadge, I was noticing what I thought was excessive noise from the hydro transmission of a Kubota 4310HSTC that I had. I'd bought it used but I had receipts where the previous owner had performed all of the required maintenance. The noise of the hydro kept bothering me, so i decided to drain it and change the filters again, even though they were not due. Although it was considerably more, I went ahead and bought the Super UDT over the regular UDT.

The tractor not only quieted down, but it also drove smoother and seemed to pull some of the hills I mow with a bit more ease. I cannot measure or quantify the difference, or even guarantee that it was the Super UDT that made the difference. I recently purchased an RTV and was having a considerable amount of transmission problems. It went in to the dealer several times but they never fixed it. It only had 20 hours on it. I went ahead and changed the transmission filters and changed the fluid with Super UDT and the transmission problems all went away. I'm certain some of the problems had to have been clogged filters, but one more time I had favorable results and Super UDT was a common denominator. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'll continue to use the Super UDT (in spite of it's high price) until it doesn't improve things for me.

I know, very un-scientific, and "seat of the pants" logic. But, it's worked well for me, so I'll continue using it until I see a reason to not. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

A number of years back CNoel a person who used to post here frequently and who's family owns a tractor dealership as I recall sent me the specs on UDT, Amsoils hydraulic fluid and Super UDT. The specifications clearly showed that in cold performance, the Super UDT was best in every category. There is no question Super UDT is different then UDT. The price difference between UDT and Super UDT is $22.35 for 2.5 gallons of UDT to $33.75 per 2.5 gallons for Super UDT. TractorSmart - these guys are terrific!!! Rat...

Can I use Super UDT in my NH TC-40D?

I would suspect yes but do not know for sure. I know there are folks using NH in their Kubotas.

I also noticed mine to be a little noisy. Once I changed it with the regular UDT it did seem to quieten it down some. The Super UDT would probably be even better.

Sounds good to me. I might switch to it the next time I have to service it.

Thanks for the insight Dargo!
