Amsoil synthetic fluids in a 2520 anyone?

Guys I have 177 hours on my used 09 2520 that I just purchased. Original owner used all JD fluids and Filters. I was going to change oil/filter, HST , and front axle fluid. I have ran Amsoil synthetics in a lot of other things and had good results. What is everyones thoughts about running amsoil in there tractors?

I have been using Amsoil in my JD compact tractors for years without any problems.

Cool, it looks like you got it! I don't think you will be disappointed with it. I love mine and can't believe how much a tractor of this size will do.

If you don't mind the additional expense, Amsoil should work just fine. Just make sure you use the right viscosity for the right application. HyGard and HyGard Lo-Vis are of a different viscosity for example. Since your engine is EPA Tier III, their 15W40 is fine for the engine. If your manual says J20D for the HST, go with their PowerShift 10W transmission fluid. If it calls for J20C, go with the 30W. Not sure about yours, but my 2011 3720 HST front axle takes the same J20D as does the transmission/rear diff. Grease, filters, etc should be self-explanatory. But I'd be surprised if you could get a HST filter from Amsoil.

I don't put many hours on mine, so change fluids by the calendar rather than by the hour meter. As such, I stick with the less expensive conventional lubricants.

Personally I think Amsoil is a bit over priced for its protection capabilities. There are better oils that are cheaper especially if you compare cost/performance.
