Well it was interesting to me anyway. My tractor has both a primary and a secondary fuel filter. Today I changed both. Dumped the filters and associated fuel in a large can.
I ripped open the filters and could not see anything that was trapped in them. I knew that there was some "stuff" on the bottom of the can and wanted to see what it was.
I stretched double thick pantyhose over another can and poured the contents in so it would strain out the "stuff". This involved approx. half a quart of diesel fuel.
I reached a point at the end of the pour where there was a puddle, (an oz. +-), on the pantyhose, but nothing actually going through. I then realized that what was still unstrained was water. The fuel strained through, and the water did not.
For what it's worth. Hey...I'm easily amused
