Snow Equipment Owning/Operating And yet, another newbie_Kubota with snow blower for home

Looking into the future I would like to ease the snow-removal task by, possibly acquiring a garden/lawn tractor and snow-blower combination. Have considered trading up to Kubota 2110 diesel plus blower attachment. What befuddles me is the absence of photos of this combination; me thinks that, though comfortable in looks, this may not be popular.

Currently I own a Troybilt, 16hp garden tractor used for mowing. The 13hp Craftsman snow-blower performs well. The blower has frills such as heated handles and motorized chute but must be wrestled to U-turn in the driveway no 奏urning levers. Idea is to trade Troybilt and Craftsman for the Kubota,

A side thought: My snow-blower has large, V-grooved tires that have never spun on ice. Kubota that I saw, has tires with a much less aggressive tread pattern that the sales person swore, was preferable to the V-groove.

A still, small voice warns there is little alternative to dedicated tools such as owned presently.

I really need an experienced opinion as to whether or not to go for the Kubota combo.

They do offer a traction tire for the GR series. If your driveway is paved my favorite for traction is the turf tires! More surface contact to keep from spinning.

Can you get the GR with 4 wheel drive? That would be ideal for winter traction. I'm not familiar with the GR series, but thought I recalled it comes with that option. If not, chains are always a cheap alternative and work well, but get the two link version.

I see from your profile that your lot is about 3/4 acre. You didn't mention how long your driveway is. It seems to me that you don't need a very big machine for your property - I think you want to not get too big a machine. Kubota does make some neat small tractors. My property is quite a big larger than yours (6.5 acres and 500 feet of driveway) but 90% of my tractor time is mowing (about 1.5 acres) or blowing. I have a front mount tractor (F2400 4wd) and it is perfect for my needs. You might consider a smaller version for your property. I leave the turf tires on year round. If I have a traction problem in the winter (rare) I just shift into 4wd and the problem is solved. From my perspective, a cab is essential for snow blowing - I don't like getting cold. There are lots of good used tractors around. Mine was previously owned by a small town. It had over 4500 hours on it when I bought it but have had no significant problems. It came packaged with a cab, mower deck, snowblower and dozer blade - and for about a third of the price of a new tractor without any add-ons. If you look around, you should be able to find a good used package suitable to your needs.

Although I now own two Kubota 4wd tractors - the smaller of the two with a front mounted blower - for many years I cleared my snow with my Ford 14 Hp garden tractor with a front mounted two stage snowblower. I had the rear wheels filled and used chains, but then I went just about anywhere I could go when there was no snow.

What happens here is you can go with a Sub compact for about the same or less money which is a better deal for the money.

I have looked around - w/no luck. This, primarily, because of unfamiliarity with different model numbers. Crytic. Guess, time will broaden my knowledge.
Have suggestions for a 'smaller version'.
