Hope they check euthanized dog for rabies.
Puncture wounds are usually really bad also.

In 1973, I was 9 years old, I was walking along one of our old country roads to my friends house as I had done many times. I grew up in an amazingly safe little farm town. Suddenly, without provocation, I was ambush attacked by a large male german shepherd. If it were not for one of the owners children coming out to pull the dog off me, I would not be here today. It went for my throat, just missing it by inches. It bit my face, arms and ankle. I had over 100 stitches and was hospitalized.
I remember coming home from the hospital with my dad and watching him load the clip of his .45 auto intending to shoot it on sight right in their front yard. My mom had to plead with him not to go to the neighbors and shoot the dog. Those were some scary moments in an otherwise pretty normal childhood.
The SPCA and animal control came to our house and informed my parents the dog had also attacked a man who went to their house to give their car a jump start. He received 80 stitches. They took the dog away and euthanized it.
I'm kind of amazed I'm not scared of dogs. In fact, we had German shepherds as dogs when I was attacked and well into my late teens and loved them. However, I am always not surprised at how suddenly and viciously a dog will attack-especially the "bull/mastiff" breeds.
That video brought back some not so great memories.

When I was a kid, there were several dogs on our camp road that we learned to be wary of. One was a GSD next to out friend's house which ran loose all day and was known to chase people. One day I was walking past their house on the town road when the dog came out and started going after me. Like a dumb a** I started running, and the dog nipped me, tearing my jeans and drawing just a little blood. For years I never told anyone, and thought that it was my fault. For some reason when I finally got my first dog 45 years later my attitude changed. I realized the dog should never have been allowed to run free, and I told my 7 week old puppy that day that if she ever bit anybody I would shoot her myself.

I have two dogs. I feel the same way.

Growing up in the country my best friend lived across the main road so I had a bit of a walk, the shortcut was across this tractor sales place. They had this really mean German shepherd on premises.
One day I'm going across when this dog comes full speed at me. I was about 14.
I knew I was going to get torn to shreads, and to this day I realize it was stupid but it worked... I made a fist, when it jumped I rammed it right down his throat!
I guess it was unexpected and started coughing and gagging, then trotted off.

My dad tells a story of the farm's dog being the "alpha animal" on the whole farm when he was a boy and one day deciding to attack him. He, however, happened to have a 2x4 in his hand at the time. The dog always left him alone after that.

I have always had problems with the stock; mainly the poultry. When I was about 4 years old, we had a huge White Rock rooster that would jump on my back and flog me when I wasn't looking. One day I was outside with my fishing rod. He came up and ruffled up and I whacked him on the neck with the tip of the rod. He blinked, I did it again and again until he backed off. He never did that again either; it wasn't long before he came the chicken in the pot of noodles.

I worked for a landscaper who had a rooster like that, when loading trucks in the morning one person would stand there with a garden hose to defend everybody else. I don't know how she managed to run a retail business with him running around. I had a rooster-very briefly- who would attack when your back was turned. He got away with it twice; the third time I walked out of the henhouse for my axe, went back in and grabbed him, and did the deed on a nearby stump. Meanwhile my dog was in the back seat of the truck watching... the look on his face was priceless.

My 9 month old bull decided he wanted to eat out of the bucket when being fed, if he couldn’t he’d hit you with his head. As this became a habit I opened the gate, he came for the bucket and got hit on the bridge of the nose, he swung the head and got it again. Now when I enter with the bucket he stands a step back. Without the bucket I can pet him on the nose any time. He knows going for the bucket hurts.
