Annoying John Deere ad on kubota sites

Am I the only one tired of that annoying John Deer add all over this site. It may just be my computer, but most times when I change to a different screen, that annoying add of the john deere driving into to loader and over the mmm deck comes up and my screen freezes till the ad is over. Now, I only have dial up and can only connet at about 46 bps, but I am starting to log off and stop using the site because of that annoying ad. I know the site's got to make money to stay open, and we all benefit, but man.....if its just me and my computer....never mind... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I wondered how that Add would affect dial up user's. TBN should have dial up or broad band option.

You are definitely not the only one. I haven't been back to TBN for weeks at a time since the JD adds interrupt the display. I'm dial-up as well and may just give up and stay away. Sad for a member before 2000.

I am with you Egon, I connect at 26k and dont mind it. Now if it was a Kubota ad.....errr that would steam me.

Agreed, that JD ad, and the NH ad make loading extremely slow, to the point that one just doesn't want to read this board. I would also say that the posting has more to do with advertising sway to one brand or another than any of these ads could ever hope to pull off. Just a picture of the JD or NH, or Kubota would get the just of the ad across. A quick link to their site to watch the movie would be present if one wishes to view additionally. I have gone to my internet options and tried to turn off the Macromedia flash to stop the ad, but I have windows 98, and no such turn off icon appears. I do have a fresh built ASUS P4P800E Deluxe motherboard workstation, "CRAY 3" machine, 2Gig 400mhz 3200 DDR DDRAM, with LAN 10/100 which is getting hooked up to Verizon DSL for $15 month, 768Kbps per sec opt. , so going to say goodby to this dial up. I'll start using the Cray 3 with Windows 2000 pro for TBN, but that doesn't make the ad any less annoying. I'm going to check the internet options on that machine also. Deere Ad Thread

The solution for dial-up users seems to be 1) using Firefox browser, 2) use an ad blocker; or 3) disable Macromedia and/or scripts on the site.

I know it can be frustrating for those who have dial-up. But, just about every site on the Net has some kind of ad content. We accept it, within reason, to help offset the high costs of developing and continuing all of the TBN site without charge. We hope to keep it that way.
