I'm going to go against the trend here. I'm running Amsoil in my small engines and my Kubota BX. I'm trying to go by the hours on my Kubota, but it may get to be a long enough time that I will change it early. I will go longer than a year on my Kubota, but I don't want to go much over 18 months.

Like others have said, its pretty cheap on these smaller engines, but for me it more of a time factor. It takes me longer than 10 minutes to change the oil in my Kubota, more like a 1/2 hour. You mutiply that by all the small engines I have and the 4 vehicles I maintain, and its just not worth it to change it more often than needed.

One thing I did do, is start a small book and I write down when I change the oil in my small engines. I keep one of these books in all my vehicles also. I realized I had no idea when I had changed the oil in my small engines.

For those of you with smart phones there are numerous apps.

I use gas cubby.

Allows me to keep track of fuel prices, L/100km or mpg and all maintenance on all vehicles/small engines

It even allows you to sync with server in case you "misplace" your phone you won't lose all info

Forgive me. Just a pet peeve of mine. A phd in English from Boston College mandates I correct the total destruction of the English langauge. There is no greater abuse than "Irregardless". Ignorance is no longer an excuse, once corrected. Climbing down from soap box and getting ready to climb abroad my JD.

I'm surprised you're not taking to task the people that misapply words such as "lose vs. loose", "your vs. you're", or "there vs. their vs. they're".
But you center on the word "irregardless" that has been used by many people, including statesmen, for well over a hundred years.
There are far worse abuses of the English langauge in this day and time, than that.

It seems the ones that dislike that word the most are the ones with so called higher education.
There seems to be a very self congratulatory nature about pointing it out.
And as we have seen, a higher education certainly doesn't translate into people skills and politeness.

My apologies to the OP as this is off topic and I'll not comment on this further.
