My wife thinks I'm loony for doing it, but every spring when the weather finally begins warming up I give Clementine a thorough bath and armed with a bale of rags clean up all the old winter grease. (In the warm months I clean as I go, but in winter my gloves tend to stick to the cold metal so I just let it build up.) Then with a few clean cloths and a can of good wax I make her look new again.

Sure love the way she sparkles this time of year! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Does your wife think you are loony if you wash and wax her car....?? My JD just turned to 87 hours and I pulled and stored the loader and rear blade, changed the oil and filter and greased it, then washed and waxed it. Told myself I would never wax this tractor, but it only takes 45 minutes and because so many of the TBN members admit to polishing up their machine I decided to join the club.

It really only should have taken half an hour....but I kept stopping the job and moving away to admire my gleaming tractor from various angles while trying to keep the grin off my face.

I tried, Cliff, but the glare is too great! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I have pics of the scowling wife, though... /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

My B2400 has had more coats of wax in the year that I've owned it than my 1993 Lumina and my wifes 2002 Trailblazer have had combined!! Even worse, my tractor is ALWAYS stored in the garage and the Trailblazer sits outside!!! Actually the SUV could be kept in the garage but the wife is too lazy to open the garage door! : /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Whew Pete, I have to admit a little reluctance to reading your posts after the elastocastromometer. That thread scared me. I found while reading it that my knees where both tightly smashed together.

I too like to throw a little of the shiny stuff on (the tractor) if for no other reason then to see if it can still look like it did when I got it. It does! I also spray all the rubber stuff with some Meguiars rubber stuff. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
