Using my 47" Snowthrower on my X475 for the first time this season today and I think I sheared a pin.

The auger will run and rolls in the snow out in front of the blower but it will not come up through the shoot.

I replaced the shear pin on the impeller but problem is not resloved? Any close up pics of the impeller and shear pin properly installed would be much appreciated!

Hello

Did the hub that the impeller attaches to come forward while the shear bolt was broken? If it did the shaft key may have come out. just some thing to check.

Shawk - Thanks, I saw that photo in my manual. The Shear bolt on the impeller is the one that I replaced, but it looks to be in a different position that mine.

GATOR - yes it did come forward, what do I need to check next and where is it?
Thanks!

Are you able to free hand turn either side of the front auger (it's two parts)? Or the auger/upshoot? Try each of the three parts... you probably did.... but let us know.

Hello

Remove the shear bolt loosen the set screws pull the hub forward. There should be a piece of key stock that keeps the hub from turning on the shaft. Get a piece of key stock to fit, an while you have it forward find the spots where the set screws hit the shaft grind some notches there. The impeller coming forward and hitting the housing is what made your shear bolt break. The notches will keep it from coming forward if the set screws lose there hold.
