Tractor
None
Hello, another newbie on the site. It is my first tractor to buy. I am from Montreal (so cold winters, a lot of snow) and I am looking for a 6100/6200/7100 with snow blower (preferable a front one), mower (preferable finish) and loader. Not knowing a lot about tractors, I need a good working one, but on a limited budget. Some questions:
1) should it be HST to be able to hydraulic control the loader / snow blower (if it is a snow blower with hydraulic chute)?
2) should be 4x4 for a front snow blower? Does a 2wd has less "grip"?
3) if I buy something like this one:
will I be able to attach a loader and control it?
Or it is better to buy one like this:
and to add a snow blower and mower?
4) will a 6100 snow blower (1996 Kubota B6100) fit on a 7100?
5) for this 7100HST
do I need other accessories to attach a front snow blower?

The cheapest to date is this one
with this snow blower
But have to look for a loader. And is missing the HST (if I need it for the loader) and it is 2wd...

Thanks for your time and advices.

If you are new to tractors I would say you want HST. If for a lot of snow removal 4X4 also. With proper ballast and chains 2 wheel drive might work.

You might also think about a rear snow blower. They will hook up to most tractors that have a 3 point on the back and a pto. Of course then you are driving backwards all the time.

On older tractors it is possible to add an end loader later on but can be hard or impossible to find.

I’m not sure how big your property is but used Kubota BX and John Deere 1 series tractors are common used around here. You might get something like that which is newer for your budget. They are small though.

Welcome to TBN.
The bigger the model easier the task.
HST would be more easier when using front loader, loader blower you may want rear ballast also rear tire chains for blower use, there no power steering.

B7100HST would be better model.

If you want a loader buy a tractor with one. It will be hard to find a loader plus the corret mounting brackets and hydraulics later on, and would cost you more.
I think you'll do better with HST and 4x4.

Your tire selection may be a problem, You'll want turfs for mowing but they are probably the worst for snow. Keep in mind that R3 turf, R1 farm and R4 industrial tires all take different wheels because the sidewall height and width are different. So you have to swap both wheels and tires.

When I sold my B7100HST a few years ago there were a lot of 2wd ones for sale with R3s, and 4wd ones with R1s. 4wd and R3s are probably less common.

I think my B7100 was a little heavy to be used as a lawn mower (and it had R1s which are hard on the lawn). Weight means more compaction. A dedicated lawn mower tractor might be a better idea. Used ones wont' cost much more than a used mower deck for a B7100.

B7100s came in two model runs, one in the '80s and one in the '90s. You can get parts from Messicks or your local dealer but some parts are getting scarce.

Thanks all. Yes, I understood that it is a lot better to look for one with the loader already installed.
The one with the loader that I have in my first post just sold. In 5 hours from listing.... Strange, he said that it included the snow blower and the mower. At 6k (CAD), it was a very good price. A 4x4 HST.
I cross finger that I will find another one similar...
The BX are newer, so more expensive for my limited budget (around 8k CAD)

I put 3500 hours on a B7100 hst with loader and mid mount mower.

Those tractors are just plain mules. Steering is hard and will wear out with loader work. Mine had turfs and chains for all four wheels. Turfs are probably the best for your snow conditions. Of course adding the chains makes a big difference.

The mower worked well as did a rear Rototiller. For front blower you’d probably need a mid mount PTO.
For blowing snow a few more HP would not hurt. Might look at Kubota B 7800?
