Here is a Loftness front blower that I adapted to our L3830:

I added a adapter to give me a 6 spline PTO out the front:

Very cool project. Nice job. I love all this DIY stuff. It makes things that are financially out of reach for some of us, possible.

Kudos! That's a well thought out and executed project.
Thanks, its been a fun project, now I need to go outside and remove the 12" of powder that came down last night :D

Thanks, we probably have about $1800-2000 into it. $1200 for the blower and the rest in hoses, fittings, a valve and all the little things that add up quickly.

Hey Aaron, why are you holding back from us? :D No build thread or pics, I always enjoy your posts regardless of the topic and have never seen anything to indicate your fab skils.
Your pto power diverter is fairly obvious it's 2 rt angle gear box's, but a little explanation would be welcome. Nice job for sure!

Just finished up a recent project.

Sorry JC, somehow I scanned down to Aarons build and skipped over yours, also very nice!!!!! I have a 3 pt. blower and have contemplated a front mount with a similar double sprocket/chain set up. I just question (myself) as to how often I will use it over the plow and switching back & forth I would imagine, would take several hours depending on how clever I can be with the design?

I'm doing ok shaeff, just been busy. Bought me a 1971 Ford 4500 TLB which I am in the process of completely tearing it down, and rebuilding, here is a slide show of it

that I need to update that slideshow again.

Glad to hear it! That's a really nice project, if you do a build thread on it, PM me a link so I can follow. :)

It is a Loftness blower and front mount frame which came off of a 60ish HP New Holland that I adapted to fit on our L3830. I will post pictures one of these days, haven't had time to do a writeup it was mostly a case of cutting down the brackets to make them fit and making sure everything cleared.
The frame that it mounts on (and the gearbox frame) was already built.

No problem. I was just cruising the forum and clicked on this thread not realizing it was my own from a year ago. I遏・ not sure where you are located being on my phone but I can tell you after years with a plow truck here in Maine I遏・ happy to have the blower. This year like others past those plowing built up very large banks very fast. Never a problem with a blower. I actually just decided to join the modern era and bought a 2008 JD 2320 with POWER STEERING! I likely couldn稚 have parted with the awesome little Yanmar so luckily my step dad was happy to try out the Yanmar and he loves it so it痴 still in the family.
