First off there is no data here that I could find, just one mans opionion. Second off his opionion is worth very little to me since I found more than one error in his writing for example we all know the Ford had a advertised 400HP and 800 FT TQ but this is what he wrote.
"Ford brought an F-250 4WD Super Duty Crew Cab shortbed in Lariat trim to the rodeo. It delivers 735 lb-ft of torque at 1,600 rpm and 390 hp at 2,800 rpm from its all-new 6.7-liter V-8 turbodiesel."
Maybe that is actually what the scorpion diesel makes at 1600 & 2800 rpm and the 400HP quoted in the brochure is peak HP at some other RPM?
And to test a diesel truck with a 8,000# load. That is large SUV stuff or base engine 1/2 ton territory. Put a real load behind them and give me some data. In the end I think the GM and Ford will be very close with the edge currently going to GM and the Dodge will be far behind the other two like we have seen in so many other test.
That was done in another test and quoting the author, the comparison between the GM HD & Ford SD:
"After our initial ?1-model-year-truck testing last summer in Michigan, we were left wondering how the high-output (400 hp) version of the new 6.7L Power Stroke would have faired against the 397hp 6.6L LML Duramax. Surely with 800 lb-ft of torque, the new Super Duty should give the 765-lb-ft Duramax a run for its money in a test of power, right?
Nope. It wasn稚 even close.
Once again, the Chevy proved to be the superior performer when it comes to acceleration testing. In every towing test we ran on I-70, the Silverado 3500 outperformed the Super Duty F-350. The Silverado made it through the quarter-mile more than 2 seconds quicker, achieved a top speed that was nearly 10 mph faster, and finished the entire climb more than 2 minutes ahead of the Ford. The Duramax performed significantly better at 11,000 feet of elevation as well, pulling the 18,900-pound load at 47 mph, while the Ford slowed to 35 mph."

This appraisal is absolutely worthless even though they liked many aspects of the Ford better like the interior, mirrors, controls, ect it would not make me run out and buy one. Chris
Between this test and the pickuptrucks shootout I sourced above, I'd say GM has an edge. Hopefully more tests will come along after Ford gets engineering to retune the truck.
