So,this is just and FYI. I decided to replace my intake hose (out of the filter to the tram). I ran down to Napa as it is local, but for a single short hose it did not make sense to drive 20 miles to the shop I think is much better.
Well, NAPA uses a different sort of fitting. One that is flared at the end around the hose and gold in color (Wayne County, you will know the names). Anyway, I got the $50 hose home and of course it would not fit. That extra 3.4" made it impossible to bend the hose enough to attach.
So off to the good store and it was only $30 but I spent a bit more in gas as my hoopedy pickup only gets 7 MPG. ($20 in gas I am guessing). Their hoses have the similar silver connector.
So a big heads up to those who are thinking of swapping out hoses. This also caught me around the front wheel motors as the flares bound things up a bit.
