Hey Rob,
I remember several posts where you performed major repairs and upgrades in very rough conditions at your camp.
Good idea checking on the wear after a short interval. I did seem to still feel some gear lash in the upper bevel gears with all of the shims out. On the lower gears, there were no original shims on the big bore cover but there were several on the lower cap and they were needed. I put in 2 layers beyond where the gears crashed. It was about 6 per side.
