A year would be the *soonest* you'd want to use it, after it's split, stacked and top-covered. Well, assuming it's hardwood, anyway.

That wood was cut and stacked March 2016 when they started the clearing. It's been sitting that long but is not cut or split. It is almost entirely apple.
I know I'm going to be setting a bunch of the smaller stuff aside because people like apple wood for smokers and aromatic campfires, but the bigger stuff is going to go heating the house.
