Just purchased a 2015 and was wondering about used attachments...what are the best places to find them online? I see the classifieds here don't have much...is ebay any good?

Do rental places typically carry PTO attachments?

I'm amazed at how much this stuff costs...horrified, actually... :)

Here's my obligatory 'new tractor' pic. I'm guessing this thing will actually become useful once I learn what the heck I'm doing.

Thanks!

Congrats on the new arrival!
The best place I've found for used implements are auctions, specifically ag consignment auctions, also watch your local classifieds. Just beware of junk if you go the auction route, get there early enough to look over what you're gonna bid on! My local rental place has some attachments but he's not very big, suppose some of the bigger rental places would have a better selection.
Have fun with your new toy!

Also I know there a couple of dealers who sell fairly inexpensive stuff and will ship to your location, but the names escape me right now. Maybe someone else could chime in with the answer to that. You might also fill out your profile so others in your area can help out! :)

Lucky you! Arnie hook you up with that set up? Which 'hoe do you have on there? Is it dirty yet?

Have you tried uncle henrys? every convenience store has one of their buyers guides. Batchelders in Lebanon is where I got my box blade and rake, you might see if they have any trade ins.

I'm just burnin' doin the Nutron dance... :)

So you know Arnie? Yes, he set me up! It's got the 6' Woods backhoe on it, with a 12" bucket. I wish I had some experience with other tractors so I had something to compare it to...a guy at work that has lots of experience keeps saying, 'that hoe is going to be useless...you won't even be able to pull up a little stump with it'. Time will tell I guess.

Thanks shvl73...I just subscribed to Uncle Henry's and will give Batchelders a call. Sure would be nice to find a used rake...

Will any 3pth attachment fit the 2015? I realize the powered ones may require more PTO power than I have...but will the mounts fit? My builder's 3015 is sitting in my yard and his rake is calling my name...

Thanks again.

(and sorry for the reference to the Beverly Hills Cop soundtrack...won't happen again :))

Any category 1 implement should fit you tractor. Whether it's sized for your power, traction, pto hp, etc..., is another thing. I'm guessing his rake is a 7', try it. When you buy one, a 6' might be better suited. Make sure you can angle it and still cover or exceed the width of your tracks.
That's a nice looking set up, you're going to have a lot of fun!

I've got the same thing, but without the hoe... and my house in the background isn't nearly as complete either.

As far as attachments, it sounds like you're interested in rake? I've got a 6' KK landscape rake that my 2015 can more than easily handle. When I get some time and materials, I'm going to get it set up with gage wheels.

I haven't had much luck finding rental companies that rent attachments, but what I have found is that if you know other people with tractors in your area that have attachements you can barter or trade for the use of those attachments. And it looks like you've got something that most tractor owners (that I know) don't have--a back hoe. Seems like most people need a little something dug here and there.

Some attachments you might find usefull:

1. Box Blade
2. Brush Hog (Rotary cutter)
3. PHD (Post Hole Digger)
4. Rototiller

Are you in snow country? I think there's even a snowblower attchement that connects to the belly.

Have fun! :)

Not really meant to 'pull' stumps, but that's besides the point. If you want to pull stumps or do other interesting stuff with it, consider getting a 'thumb' installed on it.

Here's a good way to prove its worth:

1. The next time you need to dig a trench, time your self and see how many feet you've dug after 10 minutes.*

2. Then measure that distance and dig the next segment of an equal distance and time yourself (the old fashioned way...shovels and picks).

3. Based on the value of your time (and back) calculate the value (in dollars/hour).

*For extra value, do this in the hard dry ground of summer, or the frozen ground of winter.

Then again, you could invite the guy at work to help you dig :)

I was digging up some stumps the other day...little ones - maybe 4-6" in diameter. Seemed to work ok...except the 6" one that got bigger as it went down, and down, and down. I ended up chopping it out by hand. The hoe couldn't get it. I wonder how big of a tractor I would have needed to get to pull it.

Like you said, shvl, I could have done it by hand, but it would taken a lot of work - which for me means I probably wouldn't have done it at all.

Ugh...snow removal. I'll definitely need it for that - we have a long stone dust driveway - that will probably be mostly gravel by the time the rain washes the rest of the s.d. off (I'll NEVER do that again...what a waste). What are the lower-cost options for plowing? Right now my plan is to just use the bucket and see how it works...
