Just had delivered a MF 1528 with MF1520 FEL, 5' Buhler Blade, and 5' Brush Hog. I have only managed to read the owners manual and play for about two hours. It has been 40 years since I drove a tractor. The new ones are great. Lots of improvements, comfort, and safety. I enjoy this forum and the information I am able to gain from listening to the experts. Thanks, I will keep monitoring and enjoying your advice.

I just had a JD3320 w/300X FEL and 5' MX5 brush cutter delivered and got to put 3 hours on it Sat morn, been to hot in MN to go out and play much the last couple days. I hope you enjoy your new machine As much as I have mine, it's also my first tractor and I have not been on one for over 30 years

Thanks for the welcome. We seem to be sharing a lot. I am located in the northern end of the Black Hills of South Dakota. I have about 2.5 acres of elongated land that has lots of Pine and Oak trees. A seasonal creek runs the length of the property. There is about an acre of grass that I use a JD riding lawn mower and bagger to keep maintained. There is at least three levels of undulating ground that has a terraced profile. This place is gorgeous and from the front porch of my log cabin I can watch the deer, wild turkeys, along with the occasional apperance of a mountain lion, and other creatures.

I am in the same situation right now. Lots of heat, an occasional thunderstorm, etc. I am sure I will get lots of time to practice with my new toys. At our age, the new experiences we have is what keeps us young. Currently I am thinking about buying a set of bolt on forks for the front bucket. I hope to build a platform on these and use the heighth to sand and seal the logs on my cabin. Sorry for the rambling note, but I do love to talk (write).

Welcome, mf 1528 here also, I've had mine for the past 6 months,exsept for the r-4 tires, I love mine to death. Unfortunately, there hasn't been nothing but rain here in central Oklahoma, and the r-4's aren't much good in the soft wet ground. It's really hard to make any $$ when it's raining.

Welcome and congrats! I have a 1528 gear and FEL since March and can't be happier. Amazing what it can do. My rear R4's are loaded with beet juice but clog in soft stuff as well. Chains on the horizon. Good luck! Dennis

Thanks for the note. I had my rear tires filled with Calcuim Cholride yesterday. I will have to see what effect that has on my operation. I have managed to get 4 hours of seat time and so far I have to agree with you 100%. I love it. It has already started to build the confidence I need to do a lot of work. The one thing I am still pondering, is the choice I made to go with 48" bucket. It seems to be better in digging into the ground, but seems to fill up awfully fast. I think in the long run it will still be a good choice. Regards, Wayne
