I have been reading all the posts about adding rear remotes which is what I want to do. Here is a pic of what I have now. This is for a FEL. "A" comes out of the hyd. block and goes to "in" on the FEL valve, "out" from the valve to "B". The valve for the FEL doesn't have a PB port. I was going to buy a new valve with PB and run "A" from the hyd. block to "in" on the new valve and from "PB" on the new valve to "in" on the existing FEL valve.
My question is on all the diagrams I have seen for doing this, is that all the valves have a 3rd line (low pressure return?) going back to the reservoir? I would need to do this with the new valve? The current FEL valve only has 1 return line. Would that stay the same?
Thanks for any help

On a PB valve, that third low pressure return line handles the flow returning from a cylinder when you are using the valve. IE: the fluid enters the valve, and goes out a work port to a cylinder. The fluid comming back from the other end of that cylinder to the other working port is sent to that return port to exit the valve. The flow from the safety relief valve when it is activated also exits the valve body thru that third return port.

You will have to provide a low pressure return path to the resevoir for that third port in order to use the valve.

Where does the "B" port on the valve block go on your tractor? Is it on to another device high pressure input like a 3PH, or does it go low pressure to the reservoir? If it does, you may be able to combine that third line from the new valve with the line you already have exiting the original loader valve. If it is not a low pressure return, then you will have to find another place to run that new third line to get it to the reservoir.

Ron is right.
If "B" is just a return to sump you could add a "T" there and run a hose from the exit on your new valve to it.
But you need to determine whether or not where "B" connects to your 3pt valve. My guess is most likely it does.
In that case, plumbing it like you describe is correct, except you have to find a another "return to sump" (or to tank) for that third line, just as Ron said. Sometimes there are plugs in your hydraulic tank that you can put a fitting on or screw the hose into it. If not, you could drill and tap a hole into the tank for it. Just watch out for chips getting in there.

The "B" port goes to the 3pt. Power steering was added to the tractor at one time before I owned it. From looking at the power steering instructions, when it was added it replaced the hyd. block with one that came with it,that is what the pic is.. So there is a low pressure return with a "Tee" in it from the PS. I could "Tee" into it again with the low pressure return from the new PB valve.

Thanks for the reply. I understand it now. I didn't understand what the 3rd low pressure line was for before.
