I'm not endorsing any candidate here, but I thought this was an interesting article on what happens if the Electoral College is a tie vote 269-269...

I pray that we don't have (a) a tie or (b) a recount. I don't think it is good for America.

I think a recount in one or more states is more likely than a tie.

Down the road at YSU, they figured the chances of a tie at only 3.25 percent.

There was a time in this country when the candidate that lost, lost graciously, even if it was a close vote. They knew the voting process was not perfect and any 'voting irregularities' worked in their favor as often as not. They placed their country's welfare above their own.

The 2000 election set a precedent with the demands for recounts in Florida, the lawsuits, etc. Now, this year, there are lawsuits before the election. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I think it was suggested on ‘Daily Show with John Stewart’ the only accurate vote we will be able to trust is if everyone stepped outside and raised their hand to support a candidate while a view from above counted the tally…. Have not seen that working anywhere yet … so I guess we will just have to continue trusting those that ‘count’… Good luck & best wishes, I think we all will win this time around /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif. If the situation requires a recount in some areas, it will be interesting to see what happens. From what I have read, nearly all the new electronic voting machines do not allow a true recount. There are no paper backups of the votes.

That would be funny.
