This is nit picky stuff, but I'm curious just the same. I just noticed that the Kubota spec sheet for the new B3030/B2630 models has suffixes as "HSD" and "HSDC" (for the cab) instead of "HST" as it has been with older models.

I assumed it was "T" as in hydrosTatic. Anybody know what the story is with changing from a "T" to a "D"?

Rolando,
It may be hydrostatic drive (HSD) and the other may be hydrostatic transmission (HST).

Taken from the Kubota site:

E = Two Wheel Drive
DT = Dual Traction 4wd
HSE = Hydrostatic Transmission, 2wd
HSD = Hydrostatic Transmission, 4wd

HSD-1 or
HSDB = Same as Hydrostatic 4wd, but includes Bi-Speed turn

HSD-T = Hydrostatic Transmission, 4wd, Tow Tractor (Airlines)

These are the designations used by Kubota to differentiate the transmissions and drive configurations.
HST is simply HydroStaticTransmission.

Hey, I have another set of questions about this tractor. It comes with a backhoe, but is available with a cab and ac. When you use the backhoe, does the seat rotate like a BX23 or are there 2 seats?

Now, if you use cab and backhoe at the same time (assuminng that you CAN do this), this brings up some more questions:

If the seat rotates, then are the bh controls inside the cab and permanently affixed to the tractor like the FEL controls on a BX23, or do you roll down the rear glass and reach through to the controls? /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

If the seat doesn't rotate, then there are obviously 2 seats. Does one then operate the bh in the heat, then run jump in the ac cab to move forward, then jump out & run to the "hot seat" again every 5 minutes?

There's a simple answer to this, you can't get the Kubota BH with the cab model. Someone will probably come up with a BH you can install with the cab model, but then you'll need to be out in the heat to operate the BH.

Thanks Rolando. Too bad you can't have both. I've seen commercial TLBs with all the FEL and BH controls inside the cab, but those are usually dedicated TLBs-neither FEL nor BH can be removed.

Am I correct in assuming the B3030 cab model has a removable FEL? If so, do the FEL controls remain in place inside the cab like the FEL controls on a BX23? Maybe if enough people suggest it to Kubota, a future B3030 might have both removable FEL and BH AND cab with ac, with all controls permanently positioned inside the cab. Fact is, I'd love to see a BX like that!! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The FEL is removable and according to the Kubota web site:
"Control valve remains with tractor when loader is removed"

If you want to read more about the LA403 loader for this tractor, here is the LA 403 Link

For the B3030 tractor itself, here is the B3030 link
