I've read good arguments about getting the smaller bucket to get more concentrated effort, and also that your bucket should be wider than the tractor so you can cover your tracts.

Here's my question: the B3030 has two bucket options, 54" and 60", and the tractor is 53.8 inches wide, according to the Kubota spec. Is a 54" bucket wide enough to 'cover my tracks'?

Rolando, it sounds as if that B3030 is the same width as the B2710 I had. I had the 54" bucket and it just barely covered my tracks. The 54" bucket worked well for me, especially since I used it a lot to load dirt onto a Kawasaki Mule, but unless there's a specific need for that particular size, my personal preference would be for the 60" bucket. I had a 60" box blade, a 60" finish mower, a 60" brush hog, and the only reason I didn't have a 60" tiller was because I already had a 40" one when I bought the B2710. You might (or might not) have a hard time finding a 54" box blade, so in general I think it's nice to have the front end loader bucket the same width as the box blade.

My B2710 has the 60" bucket. The 54" would not cover my tracks. I have R4's.
