OK, so things have been going good here in the North East but I still don't see the number of calls coming in I would like. Everyone I have worked for is very impressed with the machine but still most don't know what it can do or that they even exsist. So far most of my job have included taking down all trees, including ones too large for the mulcher. This is OK but I do make more just staying in the mulcher and the trouble of removing logs and stumps is more of a logistic nightmare then it is worth.
I had a landowner (250+ acres) who was looking to put in multiple fields of 2-3 acres. I thought it was the perfect job but when he saw what was left he was not impressed saying he needed it 100% clean before he planted. How do you sell your services for something of this nature? Do you price it including clean up of the majority of mulch? and how about stump removal?
Here's the questions:
What are the majority of the job mulchers are getting?
Am I chasing the wrong type of jobs? Building lots and developments?
Do you guys just let the stuff lay and have the site work guys do the clean up?
What are the best type of jobs to pursue?
Thanks...
