Recently bought a 5085e with 650 hours. Currently have a 5085m and 5093e. They older tractors have a different set up for the rear remotes. The last 2 pics are the remotes on the 85m and 93e. Note the dials and a knob. I have a guess from turning the knobs as to what they do I can't find a good description. FYI - the 85e and the 93e have loaders run on mid remotes, the 85m does not have a loader.

I've been searching - can't really nail this down. I need some help with the terminology and differences in functionality. It is ok if you point me at manuals or other posts. If you tell me what to search for I'm ok with that

Then ultimately, what I'm really after:
1) What is required to add a 3rd remote to 5085e (of course it can be done - but how do I go about it - addon kit, replacement of existing SCV, etc). The third is handy for controlling batwing mowers, etc.
2) and can I switch the 5085e to the same functionality - can I switch over to the type with dials? It looks like the dial unit replaces the cylindrical things (sorry for my lack of terminology) I will use a shaver post driver on this tractor, and I think the position that looks like a motor is the best way to power the driver - it provides constant pressure and allows the driver valve to do the work. I think I would have to do something like hold or tie the lever down on the other type.

Thanks!

1 You will need to buy a 3 function valve assembly to replace your 2 function valve assembly. You will also need a third lever and cable for the valve.
2 Yes you can "upgrade" to the deluxe 3 function valve assembly with the dials.

The three dial positions are:
Motor: Continuous detent. Lever stays in detent, until manually moved to neutral, for constant flow
Loader: No detent, Lever returns to neutral position when released (no detents, spring return)
Cylinder: Auto detent Lever (when put in detent) stays, but returns to neutral when cylinder reaches then end of it's stroke, or system pressure is reached (valve thinks cylinder is at end of stroke)

Zebra is correct, you would need to upgrade from the std 2 function rear remote to the deluxe 3 function remote. LVB25692 - For use with Tractors already equipped with Dual Rear Valves. Features: Three
selectable detent positions on each valve (auto kickout, continuous flow, or no detent).
Float position on each valve. Flow priority to #1 valve. Pressure compensated flow
control for running hydraulics motors on #1 valve. Compatible with both Cab and
Open Station models.

The kit referenced above (LVB25692) goes for about $2300.

Is there a kit that provides 3 basic scv's - like the 2 already on the tractor?

Diverters, way less money. I now have 5 rear remotes on my tractor.

I have installed a diverter on another tractor to run a grapple. My take is that it works well for momentary stuff - like a grapple clam - where you hit the button, operate then release. Seems like wiring it with a toggle so that it would stay on would be tough on the solenoid.

Granted, I could leave one SCV alone (no diverter) and tie it down if I need constant flow...

Complexity may also be an issue. Too many buttons, and some of the "occasional" operators get confused.

Any pics of the controls set-up?

These diverters are rated for 100% duty cycle, so the solenoid issue is not an issue at all. You can have the control button be a maintained switch if desired, so the only constant flow problem is with the control valve itself.

I will try to get a picture of the control grip this weekend.

I thought that you only wanted to go to 3 total sets, so there would only be a single button, so what confusion??? :confused3: If you wanted to go with 2 or 3 diverters, not a problem with that either.
