Another snake identification

My sis killed this snake. All I’ve seen is this photo. Couldn’t see pupils. Head looks like a viper but color confuses me. What’s your identification?

My sister insists it’s a timber rattler. I don’t think so but need some proof to convince her otherwise. Maybe a hognose? I’ve looked up ratsnakes and others and can’t find a good photo that looks the same. The way she described it as “super aggressive” fits a hognose.

Rat snake

I am going to respectfully disagree with this assessment based on the many black and brown rats I get here. The head to body transition on every rat I have ever seen/caught has a very smooth transition while this snake appears to have a defined jaw that steps in sharply to the body. The pattern is also odd to me, but that could well be a geography thing seeing that I am in western Pa and he is in South Kakalacky.

That head/jaw rear width has me thinking not a rat snake.

It's a Good Snake

The patterns on the back are similar. The one on top of the head is different. Rat snakes can be aggressive. Any more pics of it? Either way I do not think it is venemous so she is safe in that regard.

We get rats around here often, it is true that they can be aggressive or they can be very docile. They can also climb a tree like spider man.

Do you see any rattles? Nope.

Doesn't look like a hog nose, as it's nose isn't turned up, and it's head is long and narrow. But can't see it from the side.

I guess we should ask where she lives, first.
