It is always a "Scarry Thing" to have to "road" a tractor down a busy road. I will trailer it whenever possible.

WOW, did you read the comments at the bottom? From stupid "Why do people on farm implements want to get on roads meant for traveling anywhere from 45 mph to whatever they can get out of their car?" ...wait it got better from this Moron "individual who died dies while driving a farm vehicle, which was doubtfully street legal along a stretch of road with a MINIMUM posted speed which I can not believe this tractor was maintaining"

Umm, that would be the MAXIUM posted speed... He had flashers on... and I'm just guessing here but he most likely had the Slow Moving Vehical Triangle sign...

The general public nowadays is far too quick to anger when either encountering farm vehicles on the road, or (apparently) even just talking about it. Here in NW Iowa the entire regional economy revolves around agriculture (whether people want to admit it or not). And yet you can't haul loads to the elevator without having people get pissed and give you the bird while they pass you.

The secondary roads we have around here were originally built for farmers to get their equipment to and from the fields. Folks need to remember that.

The scary thing about driving on the highway today is we are exposing ourselves to individuals with, mental problems, on drugs (illegal and legal), beer, liquor, cell phones, vehicle with mechanical problems, vehicles hauling or towing excessive weight, etc and vehicles operated by individual who would be a life threating hazard to anyone nearby while they operated a toy vehicle in a sand box on a playground. Have you looked in the eyes of some of the eighteen wheel drivers at 3:00 - 4:00 in the morning? Have you seen them reach for a door handle on a restroom door 3-4 times before they can connect their hand to the door handle? Drive down the interstate and watch individuals zoom past left - right lane closed x miles ahead and watch them vent their fury on someone because they did not let them change lanes fast enough when they encounter the lane closed barricade. Have you ever seen one of these individuals run into the back of a large truck with a flashing arrow on the top advising motorist to either change to the right or left lane? I have. If I was a farmer I don't think I would drive on a highway. It is sad, but sooner or later someone is going to run over him and then blame him for being on the road.
