Glad to hear you got a second chance. I wear the helmet every time after a close call one day. The story of the limb brought back the memory of when a gorup of us decided to cut down a very large dead elm tree. The tree was on the side of the road on the corner of our church parking lot. Neither the town or power company would cut it down so we decide to.
There was one large limb that hung out oever the road which had to be removed so we could drop the rest of the tree in the parking lot. I was the climber and the one who was to fell the tree. I attached a cable up on the limb and to the rear of a 1 ton dump truck. After making my cuts the truck driver was told to pull, when the limb hit the parking lot it shattered and an 8 foot long piece about 4 inches in diameter went flying right towards the back of someone's head as he was walking away.
We all yelled, he ducked and it flew over his head landing 20 feet beyond him. Thank God it missed him or it would have broke his neck.
