Anti-clockwise torque wrench

Can a torque wrench tell you the unscrewing torque of a bolt or only the screwing torque ?

My idea is the following : if you don't know the torque settings of a head and you have good reasons to think it has been factory tightened you could, by this way, deduce the information you need when unscrewing it.

Is it only a dream ?

Yup! It's a dream. Good thinking, but unfortunately it doesn't work that way.
Take for example, wheel nuts. You know you put them on with your wheel wrench, but when it comes time to take them off, you pull your guts out, knowing full well that you didn't tighten them that much. What happens is corrosion and friction enter into the equation, therefore you would get a torque reading much higher than the tightening specs. A good way to get into a lot of trouble by over-torquing a bolt that has already been stretched near it's physical limits.
Short answer is to find out the specs.

Sure it is the safer way ..... But do you know a site where there is technical data for most of Yanmar engines ?
For the latest industrial models (TNE and TNV series) you can find good informations on the web but for the older ones ?

Any suggestion will be appreciated !

Service manuals work well.
Try Hoye Tractor, or Gary Jamieson, or many of the other great guys hanging around this forum. Tell them what you need and it will show up like magic.
