I have two pumps for our farm jeep (as picutured here Farm Jeep - Hydraulic Pumps) that I just picked up from a local hydraulic service company. They don't think they can repair them unless I have the worn shafts built up at a machine shop. A new pump would be cheaper according the tech. It was clear he had no interest in working on them.
I'm sure he is correct, but if I can get it repaired for the price of a new pump, I want to do that. I sent a note to Monarch Hydraulics the company that produced the pumps in the 40's and 50's. They wrote back that they don't have any parts or ability to service the old pumps.
My first goal is to try to locate a repair shop in central Indiana (I'm in Columbus) that might take on this project. Don't know if anyone might have knowledge of a good repair shop.
Plan B might be to see what I might be able to do. I've no experience with pumps. But I'm sure I could get it apart. Anyone with experience in rebuilding old pumps that might give me some pointers?
Thanks,
