Friend of mine has a TRX9400 which is a fine machine (apart from being kind of **** to work on since everything's packed in so tight) but the 3-point linkage has this crazy 2-4 second delay between moving the position lever up and the linkage responding. The linkage responds immediately to dropping the position lever like you'd expect.

Is this normal? It seems kinda dangerous as people tend to overshoot resulting the in the attached implement suddenly lurching up a great deal higher than expected.

My 4400 TTH has a similar lag. I figured the lag was due to what I am guessing is a nearly shot hydraulic pump. I bought the tractor used and have not taken the time to sort out the hydraulic problems (leaks, slow steering and slow hydraulic lift). It was out of hydraulic fluid when it arrived (bought it from a guy in Florida) and it took a while to get the air out of the system. The leaks are now gone from being treated with some hydraulic oil treatment (to soften the seals). However, the steering (hydraulic gerotor) is slow and the 3 point lift is slow. I figured the lift was slow because of the weak pump. Some time I'll get around to checking the hydraulic system pressure. The other possible problem is the suction filter ahead of the pump is clogged. This will be my winter-time project. These Carraro tractors have some great engineering all packed into a compact package. It will be an interesting project, that's for sure.

wstr75, the problems you describe with slow FEL lift and 3 point lift are the same as I had on my Shibaru. I had a plugged suction strainer where the oil left the transmission. Simple, no-cost fix. Your rig is alot different, may have nothing to do with this, but it's not bad to check before spending money. Do you hear any kind of a hissing sound when you raise the hydraulics? If so, it could be cavitation due restriction on the suction line.

Good luck.

Which can sometime be caused by using the wrong hydraulic filter, especially in cold weather.
