Anxiously Waiting

Hello!

Brand new to the group and 55 years in the making - I'm finally a John Deere owner! Placed the order for a new X584 a few weeks ago and am waiting for word on a delivery date. I've owned Craftsman, Simplicity, Yard-Man and Cub Cadet - all didn't hold up to the challenge of my hilltop residence. (7+ acres with a long gravel driveway, hills, ravines and LOTS of trees).

My wish would have been the X739 but the price was too rich for me at this time. However, both my wife and I love the X584's 4-wheel power steering and hydraulic lifts for the deck and integral hitch. Even has the small shovel for light landscaping work and will also be a great help with upkeep for my goats (huge pen area).

Looking forward to updating how things go over the rest of this season and next, and thank you in advance for all the rookie questions that I'm sure I'll have.

It was not but just last fall when I got my first tractor, so it is fresh in my mind. The weeks I had to wait for it seemed like xmas being taken away each day. :laughing:

My parents have 4 D series machines in their barn...yes 4. Mom works at a place where they get like new returns a bunch (no mechanical problems). One has a 42 inch deck so it fits through a small gated area to access the dog run. The other 3 are just about the same, but it sure is fast to mow the 2 acre place with 4 tractors going! The oldest is probably 12 years. They are reliable.

My X584 has been awesome! What size deck did you get?

I ordered it with the 48" deck (those trees I mentioned). AND have a possible delivery date for Thursday AM! So it won't be long! (My last tractor the Cub Cadet had a 50" that was a bit too large...so).

I was also informed that the shovel, brush guard, deck and box scraper can all be on the tractor at the same time!
