Tractor
JD 5205 4wd
I am considering purchasing the 4530 with FEL with quick
attach/detach bucket..What is the pros & cons of this tractor..
Best price I have found is $18,890..I am also considering the
Kubota mx5000, JD 5105, & New Holland TT55..The 4530 is
thousands of $ cheaper..Cheaper is not always better..Would appreciate any input..

Thanks

I done not have the tractor. I am sure it is fine.

Shop the dealer first. Is the dealer friendly? Has he been selling that brand for a while? Does he run down other brands to make his seem better? How about parts stocking (he should stock all filters ect)? Is his repair shop organized (don't expect spotless, they are working on tractors)?

The answer to those questions are usually the difference between the big 3 and the other brands. If you get a good answer to those questions from the Mahindra dealer, buy it!

I bougt a 4530 about a month ago and so far I've put 30 hrs on it and I'm very pleased with it. I got it with a FEL,6'brush hog,and a 6' box blade. I wish I could have got a back hoe attatchment with it but it just wasnt in the budget.
I looked at the JD 4120 and the kubota grand L 4130 and to me the mahindra just seemed to be more tractor for the money plus the dealer was close to my house and this dealership has a very good reputation.

Im building a new house and the contractor is a good friend of mine and he owns a kubota 3130 4wd HST w/FEL which he leaves at the building site and has given me permision to use it clearing off my land. This tractor is very simple to use and is great for quick back and forth loader work but when it comes to digging up large stumps and pushing big brush piles it want compete with the 4530 however i guess it would only be fair to compare the 4530 to a tractor equal in size but as much as the 4530 weighs I couldnt see the kubota 4130 competing with it either.

After I finish clearing my land I'll probably have to sell my 4530 because i dont think ill be able to aford my new house and tractor. I sure hate to but the BOSS has spoken!

Is the $18,890 a good price for the 4530?..The only option included in the price was the quick detach at bucket end..
Thanks for the input..

That sounds like an excellent price. My 4110 was $19,300 with the quick attach feature.

not sure what you have now, but i test drove all the tractors in the 40-60 hp class, well the kubota mx5000 is very pricey, but very nice. and on the tt55 new holland, you only have stick shift, no syncromess trans, i was going to buy the 4530, like the easy set up on the controlls, but the dealer didnt have one at the time, but made a heck of a deal for me on the 5500, the 4530 is a very nice tractor, i like the pto set up on this tractor.

I have been looking at the 4530 for a while. What size rotary cutter are you using with that tractor? I have a Ford 3910 (42 pto hp) with an Alamo cutter. The Alamo specs say minimum 35 pto hp. for that clipper. My only concern with the 4530 is the hp. I'd rather not have to buy a new clipper.

I ran an 8' flail mower with our 4530 and it handled it well. They seem to have more than the rated PTO HP, but I haven't dyno'd a 4530 yet so that is only a seat of the pants guess.
