just bought a "07 tractor king (jinma) from rural king dont know alot about tractors but figured someone here could help. does & dont's, genaral maintenace stuff. i know the tractor had all the chinese oil removed and replaced with u.s. oils when rural king recieved it but that was 4 yaers ago. would like to know what kind of oil for engine, hydraulic, trans and front end axel. The manual also states that it takes 6 hrs for running-in of unused tractor but the tractor only has 4 hrs on it so its hard to say if it was even broke-in. I would greatly appreciate any info

Well you have come to the right place. I would suggest you spend a day or two reading this forum. Pretty much all the questions you have mentioned will be covered here, as well as most of the do's and dont's...

Good luck

Transmission, rear differential, mid-connect box, front differential, front drive hubs all get 80W90 gear oil that's approved for yellow metals.
Hydraulic sump gets AW32 or ISO32 hydraulic fluid
Engine gets 15W40 diesel engine oil
Injection pump gets 15W40 or straight 30W compressor oil
Cooling system should get 50/50 SCA-type anti-freeze
Grease with anything compatible with the calcium based stuff that's already in there.

RK doesn't do any "running in", that's up to the owner. And I'm surprised to hear that they changed the fluids, that's not like them. I suggest that you check those yourself. A proper and complete fluid change involves about 6 gallons of gear oil (front+rear), a couple gallons of hydraulic fluid, all the engine oil, the injection pump oil, the engine oil, and the cooling system. And everything I mentioned should be flushed too. I'll eat my hat if RK did all that.

The consensus is to flush and put in fresh fluids when new, then again at 50 hours. At that point you can start following the maintenance schedules recommended in the owner manuals. This should give you enough keywords now to use the site search engine for specifics.

Oh come on Ben, are you an internet virgin also? Go to the top of this page and select SEARCH. In the keyword line type DRAIN PLUGS. In the lower right "search in forums" menu, scroll down and select CHINESE TRACTORS. This just took me 30 seconds, and netted me responses like this:

http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/...ector-pump-farmpro.html?highlight=drain+plugs

http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/...p-drain-plug-where.html?highlight=drain+plugs

http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/...fluid-changes-farm.html?highlight=drain+plugs

Depending on how it was prepped, you may find that all the fills and drains are painted in red...

Where do you live Ben. You may find a local guy with one that can show you some things. I have done this twice for new members. Made a couple new friends from it.
