I ordered up the Boss 6'6" UTV V plow for my Gator 825i and plan to install it now before it gets cold and miserable out. Anybody have any tips to share about the install? Trying to get my ducks in a row before it arrives later this week.

No more getting off the Gator for angle adjustments and hopefully no more spillage over the top of my blade in the big storms.:cool2:

Subscribed, I've been trying to get feed back on this plow as well. I'd like to pull the trigger soon also. Does the weight of the plow concern you at all?

It doesn't concern me a bit, actually it's a selling point....instead of just riding over every little bump or ice spot it's heavy enough to scrape. I know the Gator has more than enough front suspension to support a 400 lb plow with no issues at all.

OK, I got the Boss V-plow together and I've got the skid/push plate hooked to my Gator.....all that's left is wiring.

Now that I've had this experience I've got a tip for folks looking to install a Boss plow....pay somebody else to do it. Actually it's not a bad job, the hardest part to the install came because I bent the front skid plate tabs that hook to the frame last year when I sheared the 2 rear bolts that held my American Eagle plow mount to the Gator....that caused some alignment issues that needed to be fixed...probably added a good 1.5 hrs to the install but it's good to go now.

I like the Boss plow frame much better than the American Eagle set up....AE uses bolts through the front skid plate only....the Boss uses another skid plate/frame set up that uses the front and mid skid plate bolts as well as using 2 more brackets that tie into the main frame of the Gator and the front winch/receiver frame section. It's very robust and I don't believe it will break like the American Eagle did...the Eagle plow always worked great on my RTV 500 but there is a pretty significant difference between the RTV 500 in size and power compared to the Gator 825i....my RTV never put the level of stress on the plow that the Gator does. If Eagle put a lot more thought into a decent plow frame mount and much stronger push tubes I think they'd be onto something for even the larger UTVs but the way they are built right now isn't quite enough for a large UTV like the Gator 825 or larger RTV's.:2cents:

Once again it's 80 degrees and I'm getting ready for snow....what isn't right about that picture? :confused2:
