If you don't already know, this weekend we host the 48th annual Kruse Collector Car Auction at Kruse International Park here. It's the largest collector car auction in the world and truly has a little of something for everyone from Collector cars, Muscle cars, Vintage cars, Specialty cars and more. You'll find everything from Jaguars, Corvettes & Maseratis to Auburns, Cords & Duesenbergs. This year you can even buy the Batmobile from the original 60's TV series. You'll also see things there formerly owned by the rich and famous (and infamous, too).
Along with the high dollar stuff there are a lot of cars and trucks there that more of us can afford, too. If the idea of bidding at auction intimidates you, there is also a "car corral" with people just selling their cars. If you need a particular part for something, odds are you'll find it there, too. There are vendors there from (literally) all over the world.
This is all located at exit 126 on Interstate 69 just south of the Interstate 80/90 toll road. In addition to all I've already mentioned, there are parades, museum tours of the car museum there and much, much more. If you live close enough and you're looking for a day trip for the weekend, check it out. Just makes sure you dress for warm weather, bring your sun screen, wear comfortable shoes and drink plenty of water. It's going to be cooler, but still in the mid eighties.
