If you don't already know, this weekend we host the 48th annual Kruse Collector Car Auction at Kruse International Park here. It's the largest collector car auction in the world and truly has a little of something for everyone from Collector cars, Muscle cars, Vintage cars, Specialty cars and more. You'll find everything from Jaguars, Corvettes & Maseratis to Auburns, Cords & Duesenbergs. This year you can even buy the Batmobile from the original 60's TV series. You'll also see things there formerly owned by the rich and famous (and infamous, too).

Along with the high dollar stuff there are a lot of cars and trucks there that more of us can afford, too. If the idea of bidding at auction intimidates you, there is also a "car corral" with people just selling their cars. If you need a particular part for something, odds are you'll find it there, too. There are vendors there from (literally) all over the world.

This is all located at exit 126 on Interstate 69 just south of the Interstate 80/90 toll road. In addition to all I've already mentioned, there are parades, museum tours of the car museum there and much, much more. If you live close enough and you're looking for a day trip for the weekend, check it out. Just makes sure you dress for warm weather, bring your sun screen, wear comfortable shoes and drink plenty of water. It's going to be cooler, but still in the mid eighties.

You might even have a better turn out this year after the power outages put a real damper on the WoodWard dream cruise. Oh well, there always next year. Dave

Hey Gary,

The last time I buffed my car it still had streaks. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Seriously, if you see a "Moon" I would really like a picture.

My mother is 94 years old and she has always told me that is what she learned to drive.

If it is not asking too much how about several shots.

Her body is weak but her mind is still sharp most of the time.

Isn't the Auburn Cord Duesenburg parade festival this weekend also?

Attached pic of my car, the near one.

Yes, it's all part of the same deal in Auburn.

The museum is fantastic alone. The auciton is icing on the cake! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

We were there one year when they were auctioning of the Yogi's Rolls Royces. I think there were around 50 of them. They use to do it in the high school gym. They'd bring a car in, turn it around on a turn table as the auction progressed, sell it and roll in the next one. We saw one car go for over a million in just a minute or two. Amazing.

Also, you can find just about any car that you are looking for being sold by private dealers all over the place there. Really nice stuff and fun time. I recommend it to all.

That was a big step up from the first one I saw on the parking lot of the Dairy Queen there. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I checked the sale catalog for a 'Moon' and didn't see anything listed. I know nothing about them (never even heard of one until now), so I did a little research. I sent you the only picture of one I found. My Mom is 84 herself and I'd love to be able to have even a smalll part in you doing something like this for your Mom.

I did find out that there is one on display in the St. Louis Museum so you might be able to contact either them or a TBN'er in that area for a picture. I also found out the company name was changed to 'Windsor' but still found nothing in the sale catalog about a Windsor, either. Apparently they were one of many makers crippled by the Depression who didn't survive.

If you can think of any other assistance I might be able to offer to you on this, please don't hesitate to ask. I think it would be neat for you to be able to get some pictures of that for your Mom. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I was editing my previous post to update it with what I'd found while you were posting yours. Ironically, the picture on the site you linked here was the one I sent you. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
