Leonz, I am trying to find more info on the wet well grinder. Searching Amazon gives me a pair of shoes and 2 coconut grinders, and Grainger shows me a $400 angle grinder on steroids. Is that it? There is no "well" per se, but it does say it feeds water, but does not say how it works and you can't tell from the picture. Can I use a regular air powered die grinder and keep water on the blade? I've always sharpened my other blades dry with either the electric 4.5" angle grinder or my air powered die grinder. I like the air powered one since it is a smaller tool and is easily held with 1 hand, useful when sharpening small blades. Its also much faster - 20,000 rpm whereas the angle grinder takes 2 hands and is 11,000 rpm. If I am using it around water, I'd much rather use air powered vs the electric one!

I've used just about every common method of sharpening mower blades including files, 4-1/2 disk, 4-1/2 flap wheel, bench and die grinders and I now use a belt sander with 80 grit belts which is by far superior to the previous methods I've tried. If heat is a concern you can lay out your blades and rotate them as they heat up or quench them occasionally in a bucket of cool water then return them to the sander for another round. OR... if you will be using your blades to cut grass and not perform surgery on someone just do like 99.9 percent of the population and dont worry about heating them up. Even commercial mower blade sharpeners do em dry. Also, a razor sharp edge isnt preferred as you will pick up knicks and chips. An edge that is slightly blunt is preferred.
