I ordered a 16' Pequea tandem utility trailer (model 616T) today. It has brakes on both axles, radial tires instead of bias, split rib reinforced mesh ramp/gate with supports, and a spare tire. I didn't get a spare tire mount, because Pequea isn't happy with the one that they outsourced for. They are working on one of their own. Anyway, I'll probably do some customizing to make the trailer fit my needs better once I get it. Should be about a week.
The salesman talked me out of doing something that was probably pretty stupid. I think he was probably the most honest guy I had spoke with about trailers. He may have saved my hide. If I hadn't mentioned it before, I am going to store the trailer under my deck. I was planning on loading the tractor onto the trailer without it attached to anything. This was because I have limited room for storage. The tractor and trailer can't be parked together, because my backyard isn't big enough to pull the truck with trailer attached into it. I'm going to have to use the tractor to get the trailer in the yard and parked. Anyway, he pointed out all of the reasons that loading onto an unattached trailer would not be such a bright idea, so it looks like I'll be moving my car out of the garage and storing the tractor there. There isn't enough room in the backyard to store both the trailer and tractor separately unless I want to make it onto Blue Collar TV for best redneck backyard.
Thanks for all of the input.
