Any feedback on diesel mules?

I am looking at buying a mule with one row of seats. I am torn between diesel and gas. I really like the idea of diesel due to ease of refueling as we have a diesel tank on our truck for other equipment. Searching the Internet it seems several people have reported problems with the diesels overheating. For some reason it seems the diesel mules with single row seating were discontinued in 2013 but they still put the diesel in the four seater.

Before people start suggesting other brands I currently own a rhino, an rtv 900, and a ranger. I want to give the mule a shot I just can't decide on gas vs diesel.

This unit will be used two weeks per month but during those two weeks it will be ran 50-60 hours a week.

It does seem to run hot. I have an older "boxier" style Mule, and unless they have changed them, they are built like a small p/u truck. 2wd/4wd with h/l ranges and manual locking front diff. But also VERY slow, & poor suspension travel. I have filled the bed to overflowing with gravel with no problems. My (older) Mule is a workhorse, and more in the category of the rtf-900 than the other 2.

I am not wanting it fast nor am I concerned too much about the ride. Employees are going to be driving it and then going slow is a good thing.

I really prefer a diesel but not if it is going to be overheating.

Pretty happy with my 3010 Trans-Diesel. Mine handles the Texas heat just fine. Agreed it certainly is not fast, but it just runs and runs. Currently over 2800 hours on mine..

How many hours a week operation time and how much time idling?

It is a 2008 that I bought last year. Not sure how much operating and idling time before I got it, but I probably put about 4 hours a week on it around the farm, and it idles quite a bit while doing chores..
