John Deere 2320
I am in the process of adding strobe lights on my 2320 John Deere for winter time use only, I have been trying to figure out a way to make the lights easy to disconnect when I am not using them in the off season, they are held on magnetically, I was thinking of using a trailer wiring connector as a quick disconnect, or maybe even some type of input jack like used on headphones. I want to mount this onto my Curtis cab for a neat appearance. Any ideas on different ways to do this, or am I barking up the wrong tree? Does anybody have any better solutions...I am open to suggestions. Thanks for your input....Buy the way they are forcasting 2 to 3 inches of snow here tomorrow night (Northern Maine) Don' you just love it!

Will the plug in the cab or outside in the elements?

I would like the female end of the plug to be on the outside of the cab if possible. My tractor is always inside.....it just goes outside to play in the snow:)

You might try a trailer plug,,they are made for outside use..and can be bought anywhere!!!

***Either one should work. The trailer connector would be a little easier to put together but the input jack would probably be neater.
**No

Trailer plug would be my idea also. 4 prong would work just fine.

Do you have a cigarette lighter adapter on your tractor or can one be added. I am adding a strobe light on my tractor and have a cab with the 12v outlet. I know someone make the outlet kit for 4-wheelers. Might be something to look into.

Do you have a Marine supply store close? They have lots of good weatherproof connectors.

You can use a two wire trailer connector -- it will be weatherproof , easy to connect/disconnect and they are available in up to 10 guage wire (and they are cheap :D) -- or you can use a lighter socket strategically placed and use it to power other things (like a coffee maker, hand held spot lamp or your iPod )
