I am designing a mount to put a Meyer plow on my GC and want to gauge any interest within the GC community. I would start selling these through my business if enough people did show interest. The mount would only work with tractors that have a FEL but the FEL would need to be removed. The kit will come with everything you need except the plow and A-frame. The reason that I am doing this is because I want a front mount plow but I don't want to spend the money for the factory one and I am sure there are others that feel the same way. Early cost estimates are in the $600-700 range. I will be laying out the prototype this weekend and sending it to the water jet hopefully by mid next week. I'll post pictures once I get everything mocked up.

What Meyer mounting would be required? Like the new Drive-Pro or the older A-frames?
I'm guessing using the tractor hydraulics for angle & lift?

The plow that I am using is the older A-frame but looking at the newer models the hinge connection is still the same basic design. It would most likely just require moving the mounting tabs for the plow frame, which I could do for newer model plows. The same goes for different brand plows.

You are correct with the hydraulic set up. The normal FEL up and down functions would control the plow's up/down and the FEL bucket curl function would control the angle of the plow. The plan was to include a hydraulic cylinder pre-mounted to the mount for your up/down function and hydraulic line extensions for the plow angle cylinders. The plow angle cylinders would not be included in the kit as they would already be included with the plow you choose to use (provided you choose one with hydraulic angle).

Sounds intriguing, but from what I've read on other threads, the tractor would be damaged by the uneven angle pressure, No??

Would that not happen because we'd take the FEL off?

I would be interested to see what you come up with. I have a challenger mt255 which is equivalent to some of the Massey tractors although I think it might be a tad bigger than the GC series.

I am not sure what you mean by the uneven angle pressure. I have heard that plows mounted to loader arms/buckets can tweak the loader/mounts if you hit something solid with the plow.

The mount that I am making will sit in the factory cradle in the front and bolt to the front of the frame (if you have a guard on your tractor then you would have to remove it). The mount would have additional upper support arms that would run to your factory FEL frame that is permanently attached to the tractor.

I was thinking of building the type of plow mount you describe, for my NH TC40D. I presume you will be posting pics, when you get it done. I have seen loader arms bent from plows installed in place of the loader bucket. I think your system is far superior.

I guess I'd have to see the plans and/or an actual plow to make a decision.

How about my QA that I currently use for my front mounted snowblower?

Without modification I doubt that you would be able to use that. Most truck plows have wider mounting points than the snowblowers and you would have to modify the lift point/attachment for the hydraulic system to be able to lift the plow.

I am guessing that you are looking for something to attach to your QA so you can switch between your snowblower or a plow. Your best bet would be to buy the QA portion that is on the snowblower and modify a plow's A-frame. I would try to find either a poly plow or a 6' plow for a jeep so it would be easier for the QA to pick it up.

If anyone is interested, a last year I adapted a John Deere blade to fit on the front of my Massey, it is similar to the one on youtube. If you search youtube, using massey 54 inch, it will come up.
