Yes I have one. I have almost 2750 Hours on it and it still runs like a charm. Its a daily runner in the spring till early fall. We use it as a box hauler. Hauling about 0-700 boxes per wagon maximum weight i think it ever hauled was like 5000lbs. 30% rubber left on it. Power Reverser Transmission. We had 2 Problems with it. The front axle started leaking fluid at 2000 Hours replaced for around 4000. And a new starter that's all. These tractors are easy to maintain, strong, and pretty much you would expect from John Deere excect the axle problem.. We have some drivers that drive like A**h***s. If were not using this tractor we would be using our 5420 or our 5085M to do this job. Overall this tractor is very strong. But it will be needed to be ballasted if hauling heavy or loader work.

So far everything seems to be ok with it. Only a very few minor things. I too have the power reverser model. I think I am going to take it to the local jd dealer and have them change the funds etc.... I have the 460 loader and the jd 48 backhoe. The tires are ca filled. For the size of this machine it seems like it has good power.

Do you use the 4wd on yours ?
I am wondering if that contributed to the axle failure.

Thanks

Al

Yes we do use 4WD we have some workers that drive with 4WD on the road so it might of happened from there. Which is pretty hard on the axle.

That was a typo. I wanted to say" take it to the dealer to change the fluids". However, after reading Chucks post with the info on how to change the gear oil, axles, fuel filter. I think I will do it myself.

Thanks.

I have had one now for about 3 years and have put about 200 hours a year on it. It is a power reverser model and I have had 0 problems with it. I keep all the fluids and filters changed and use it. Below are some pictures of it doing different jobs. I use on a 10 ft wheel disk, 10ft field cultivator, sprayer and a 2 bottom plow mostly. I also do a little snow removal in the winter with it.
