I have heard that there are changes coming in 2010. Nothing real big. Swivel seat and dressing up the interior sides of the cab to to accommodate the swivel seat. Also it sounds like they are expanding the anti-stall feature to the pto. And a Kubota backhoe will now fit on it.

There are now -1 -2 and -3 varients of the GL40-series tractors. There are minor feature differences, but they are basicly the same tractor. There are still some -1's floating around that are substantially cheaper.

can someone summarize the differences between the -1, -2 and -3 variants ? Can I tell from my serial # what version my tractor is?

I recently purchased a Grand L3540HST and went through the same questions regarding -1, -2, -3 models. I have copies of the Kubota dealer announcements for the -2 and -3 models which spell out all the differences, however they are in PDF format and are too big to post. I am happy to send them to you via email if you want. One important note is that the suggested retail pricing for all 3 models is the same from Kubota - can't tell you if there is a different dealer cost or not. I am getting the -3 model which should be delivered the week between Christmas and New Years. Once I get it, I will post the pictures and try to show some of the new features like the swivel seat, etc.

-1 has emmissions updates and reloacted auto-throttle
-2 I forget, very short time this was valid. We never had any -2's
-3 Move PTO switch forward, HST+ now monitors PTO RPM.
None of these varients had a corresponding price increase, however the price of the tractors has climbed substantialy over the last two years that these codes have been used. A -3 is a solid $1500 more than the orginal GL40's, the increase just did not happen with the change in model code.
