Flail Mower Any MC Mathews 6000TC info?

I wasn’t able to find much regarding this specific flail mower on here...

I’m on the hunt for a used 5’ or 6’ flail mower for my Kubota B3200. It’s primary purpose will be brushing and walking trail creation/maintenance. All of the brush I intend to cut will be under 2” in diameter. Most of it under 1”.

I have an opportunity to grab an older MC Mathews 6000TC at auction this weekend. I talked to the owner and he said he hasn’t used it in several years.

I also know that it has original “Tuf Cut” knives on the drum which are mounted in groups of 3 knives (60 total)

My questions;
- being its at an auction I can’t see it run. For all I know the entire thing could be seized up. Anything to look for to assist with this?
- the knives on this flail mower are no good for what I want to do. The owner said he just cut heavy grass with it. Is anyone familiar with this particular model and can hammers be installed on it? (No mention of this in the manual)

Mathews Company is still in business. Call them at 815-459-2210 and I am sure they can answer your questions. Their later version 1 piece knife may be a replacement for the three blade set up.
