any old car buffs?

Found this under earth next to a stonewall the wife and i opened. Also found a license plate in same area, some other metal objects etc.

It's a radiator cap-hood ornament, not sure what it belongs to. I'm guessing 1930 something.

Mr Bird, we have a match!!! beautiful...

We also found some sheet metal in same area, was fairly disolved by the new england soil, but there was a bit of it..hmmm When I pulled some out of the dirt pile I thought it might be a floor board, or some other car panel. I'd bet that wasn't a cheap car back then.

The first car I remembr my dad having looked a lot like this only it was a green 1933 chevy coupe with the wire spoke wheels.
I'm not an old car buff ,But I do have a 1950 chevy and a 1969 Rambler American.

That looks like a 1950 Ford if my memory is correct.

It IS a 1950. Gas fill door first used in '50 ('49 has external cap), exposed trunk hinges last used in '50 ('51 uses internal hinges). My first car was a '50 Club Coupe, with all the options (& then some).

There is a ?mid? 30s buick moldering away in a shed just down the road from me. Was driven in there when "daddy" died no telling how long ago. Widow would not let anyone buy it as "he might come back" Granddaughter has it now and she is just as loopy. Hate to see it there.

Rounded body style, square hole in the roof where the canvas covering used to be, suicide doors, fender well cutouts for spares, wire wheels. All complete with only surface rust that I saw. Of course by now it is down to the running boards in the dirt.
